If the clock is within range of a DuraTime master clock, the clock will change to the master clock time within a second or two. The longer the buttons are held down, the faster the time will change. The clock is protected against power failures with a rechargeable or Lithium battery. During the absence of power, the display is blanked to conserve the battery. BRG clocks are designed for organizations that require reliable and accu rate synchronized time. The BRG multi-path wireless clock system is highly reliable. The system operates on the license-free 2.4 GHz Industrial, Sc ientific and Medical band. Spre ad Spectrum radios are used to enhance signal coverage, along with AES 128 bit encryption to enhance security and reliability. In this mode, the transceiver is no longer op erational and uses very little power to remain in sleep m ode. If the batteries are removed while the transceiver is in sleep m ode and immediately inserted, the hands will move to 12:00, but the m ovement will not receive a time update.

This is becaus e the capacitors within the movement keep the transc eiver powered enough to rem ain in sleep mode for several minutes af ter the batte ries have been rem oved. To re set the transceiver, remove the batteries for at least five minutes. Then insert the batteries. The hands will move to 12:00 and wait for reception. Then the hands will move to the correct time. If the ra dio transceiver is not reset, it will still recei ve a tim e update and move the hands to the correct ti me; however, it will be some time later. If a battery clock is in low power mode, rem oving and reinserting the batteries or pressing the receive bu tton will enab le reception. Changing batteries in battery powered analog clocks Batteries should be changed as soon as the cloc k second hand begins doub le stepping. If all clocks are double stepping, then first check that the transmitter is operational. Remove all batteries, then insert new batteries. All replacement batteries must be new and of the same type. 10 Normal operation of the second hand should start by the next day. Pressing the REC ore Reset buttons should cau se the clock to receive a time update. Multiple time sources m ay be used simultaneously. Analog clocks will step the second hand every two s econds if sync is lost for m ore than a day. On 2.4 GHz devices, channels 0- 15 correspond to 802.15.4 channel 11-26. Only four buttons are used to navigate the menu. The Mode button enters the Menu. The Up and Down buttons move up and down through the menu items, and are used to change parameter values. The Timer Control (TC) button is used to save any changes and exit the menu system. The hours and minutes will blink for about ten seconds. When the hours and m inutes stop blinking, release the Mode button. A one (1) will appear on the display. Th is is menu position 1. Using the Up and Down buttons, select the desired menu ite m. Press the Mode button again to display th e parameter.

For menu items above 19, press Mode again to access the m enu’s second level. W hen a 1 appears, indicating the second level menu, press the Up or Down buttons to select the desired menu item, then press Mode to display the parameter value. Press the Up or Down buttons to change the parameter value. Once the parameter value is changed, press Mode to back out of the item and move to another item, or press the Timer Control (TC) button to save and exit the menu system. Pressing the Timer Control button at any time w ill save your changes and exit the menu system. Pressing the Mode button while a parameter valu e is displayed will back up one leve l. Press Up or Down to move to the next mode item. Pre ssing the Down button until mode 0 is reached will exit the menu system. Pressing the Tim er Contro l (TC) button also exits the menu system. The menu will timeout and return to norm al operation after 60 seconds in inactiv ity. The 1000 alarm entries are st ored in 10 di fferent sche dules of 100 entries each. There are 20 date ranges ava ilabl e. The Mode 38 funct ion has chan ged. It now determ ines whic h schedule i s active for date ranges defined in M odes 53, 54, 55 and 56. Press Timer Cont rol to access Mode 37-1. Mo de 45-19 opti onally dete rmines the number of seconds the alarm will sound before automatically turning off. If the timeout value is 0, the alarm will sound until th e code blue line is momentarily closed. The Panic Alarm function overrides all other tim er control f unctions.

Set M ode 37-10 to t he desired z one num ber 1-18. T he master clock will then begin broadcasting on this zon e, plus flag instructing the analog clock to save the zone number. Once the m aster clock is broadcasti ng the time zone command, remove and reinsert the analog clock’s batteries. The hands will begin to m ove. Once they stop, set m ode 27-10 bac k to 0. To c onfigure anot her clock, repeat the process. The zone posit ion num ber will appear in the upper ri ght cor ner of the m aster clock while the time zone position co mmand is active.By de fault, the m ode is set t o zero whic h flags the radio to re main powered for 5 sec onds. This allows enough time to obtain a time update and re peat five ti me update packets, while maxim izing batte ry life. Ho wever, it is too little time to gain contro l over the air to reprogram the device. This will k eep the radio powered for 30 seconds which sho uld be enough time to reprogr am the radio. The second hand motor operation can be reduced up to 500 million motor pulses over a five year period. This not only co nserves batt ery power, but also prol ongs the life of the movem ent.The l eft two digits, minus 20, e qual the m onth. This m ode is used re store the factory default s. 50 2 Software Reset This special diagnostic mode is for factory use only. This m ode is used to reset the software without removing power fr om the display. 50 5 Restore-User Default Confi guration The clo ck will resume normal operation after the configuration is retrieved. 50 6 1-3 Save-User Default Configuratio n This mode is used to store a custom configurati on. Use m ode 50-5 to rest ore the configuration. To execute th e configurati on save process, pr ess the mode button while 50-6 is displayed.
