Step 4 Juice No leaks. I used Jack LaLanne and other like models for years. This has the feel of a whole other higher level. Easier to use. Easier to clean. Much more quiet (in low speed). Note: I recommend using low speed as the juicer compensates for slowing speeds due to harder vegetables like ginger and carrots and sends more power to speed up the unit as needed. Had no problem juicing leafy greens and extremely hard root vegetables. High speed is very loud and likely to wake up the entire house. High speed also produces intense air movement which blows juice back out of the pitcher. Tip: Always clean off the filter basket thoroughly front and back sides immediately after use. Make sure no food particles remain as they will dry into the mesh of the basket like cement. Shame on you Breville, after less than a year and a half of light to moderate use, the machine hemorrhages juice during use, as the fine mesh screen filter disk becomes hopelessly clogged, and BREVILLE KNOWS this is a common issue with the machine. It is a GREAT juicer, the least Breville can do is STOCK THE PART.I originally decided on a masticating juicer, but made the mistake of purchasing a lower end model here on Amazon just to have it break after only a few uses. Thankfully, Amazon is great about returns and made the process easy. Now to my opinion of this juicer.I juiced a lot of veg, 2 pitchers (that it comes with about 4 cups each) and the pulp container was not even half full, yet there was no pulp in the juice. I've even had the slow masticating juicers, this is better.I truly love this juicer in every way. I will never go back to the lower end ones (that cost about the same anyway, oh brother!) or the expensive slow hard to use and clean ones.I couldn't possibly ask for more. It seems to suck out as much juice as possible, because what's left inside is completely dry. I have had no issues and I hope it stays that way. So far so good, now it just has to stand the test of time.This is a powerful juicer, and doesn't skip a beat when you throw hard stuff like ginger or sweat potatoes in it. I juice at least 2 times a week, and I do enough for my husband and I for a couple days, so I run a lot of stuff through it. I put a produce bag in the garbage bucket, which makes clean up much easier, and then I can just throw it in my compost pile. I think for how many moving parts it has, the clean up is pretty easy. I think it can all be thrown in the dishwasher, but I wash it all by hand, it might take me 5 min.It's made my life healthier and happier, and the customer service is off the chain. I stuck the pusher in my dishwasher on a high heat setting once by mistake, and it expanded, looking all crazy, not fitting into the mouth anymore. I called CS, they replaced it immediately for free. Replaced my basket now, it's so awesome. There's just nothing bad about this. It's working perfectly after years of daily use. I wish all companies and appliances were like this one.I have been using Breville Juice Elite 800JEXL juicer for nearly 5 years.each day every day.except when I am travelling. It is an Excellent Habit to have in-house freshly squeezed FRESH juice daily.Excellent addiction !! It says you can put it in the dishwasher, but I never would. It cleans so quick under tap water that I personally see no need to risk clouding the plastic. The juicer is very well made and sturdy. The parts are stainless steel. I think this is well worth the upgrade over the less expensive model that is made with plastic parts. The juice made from this is great. It handles hard and medium items really well. Softer items like spinach are a bit of a challenge. You need to roll up leaves tight and sandwich them between harder items to get the best result. The juice tastes fantastic. It doesn't heat the juice up so you get all of the nutritional benefit of cold extraction. It does take up a fair bit of counter space and you need lots of overhead clearance to move the food plunger in and out of the chute. But, the juicer is functionally attractive and is not an eyesore. So I bought this unit about 12 years ago and got about 10 years on it and the motor bearings finally went (though machine still worked fine, just some extra noise). I thought I was buying a good quality juicer that would last for many years with gentle use. It disassembles quickly and cleans easily. The motor is more powerful than on our last, and does it's job more quickly and efficiently than ever. TIP: A trick that we have use to prevent messy pulp cleanup from the canister is to just line it beforehand with a small plastic bag from the grocery store. When you're done juicing, just pick up the plastic bag and throw it into the trash. The Breville Juicer works like a industrial piece of equipment. I never realized how much juice you could get out of a carrot. It grinds up the fruit and veggies real fast and the juice pours out just like a water faucet. The pulp is thrown into another container that makes for easy clean up. I place a plastic bag into that container and when I'm done the pulp lifts out easily making less clean up. The juice you get out of it is indiscribably delicious. I LOVE IT! This is my first Breville juicer. I've previously used Jack Lalanne, Hamilton Beach and Black n Decker brands which were all horrible to use, clean and did a poor job of juicing anything. There is a large groove in the motor base into which the juice spout extending from the bottom of the filter bowl fits into place. This ensures that the filter bowl is placed on the motor base in the correct orientation.

Second, the filter basket should be placed inside of the filter bowl and fitted onto the motor coupling extending from the top of the motor base through the center of the filter bowl. The filter bowl is similar to a tire or doughnut in that it has a hole at its center. This allows the motor coupling to extend from the top of the motor base through the center of the filter bowl. Third, the juicer cover should be fitted to the top of the filter bowl. All feature the same filter bowl, filter basket, cover, pulp container, and safety locking arm design with very slight variations. As such they all are assembled exactly the same way. Slow juicers generally have a more complex design which results in their being a bit more difficult to assemble and their taking a bit longer to assemble. This is especially true for vertical masticating and twin gear juicers.Slow juicers require that users consider such factors as juicer type and produce type in addition to chute size when evaluating just how much preparation (cutting) is required before juicing a particular type of produce. For example, celery stalks can easily fit into a masticating juicer’s feeding chute just the same as they easily fit into a typical centrifugal juicer’s feeding chute. However, when juicing celery stalks with a masticating juicer the user needs to be aware that juicing celery without cutting it first can cause the juicer’s auger to jam as fibrous strands of celery can wrap around its slowly rotating auger.Of those five fruits and vegetables only one required that we cut it before juicing it. We juiced very large Red Delicious apples which did not fit into the Elite’s 3 inch feeding chute whole. We needed to cut the apples into quarters before we could juice them. Doing so for 1 lb. of apples (the quantity of apples we juiced) took us about 20 seconds to do on average for all of the juicers we tested that required that apples be cut to quarters before they could be juiced. Thus, we were able to juice with the Elite after less than a minute of total preparation time (approx. 30 seconds assembly time plus approx. 20 seconds food preparation time). Most slow juicers required that we cut oranges and even carrots and celery into smaller pieces before they could be juiced. Such was not the case for most centrifugal juicers, including the Juice Fountain Elite.

We were careful to select different types of produce that would each present a unique challenge to the juicer. We juiced 1 lb. each of oranges, grapes, carrots, celery, and apples. After juicing each fruit and vegetable we weighed the extracted juice and recorded this measured value as the “out of juicer yield”. We then poured this yield through a sieve and recorded that measured value as the “after sieve yield”. As such, the after sieve yield represents a quantity of juice that has a certain pulp-free consistency that is consistent for all tests. For this reason, comparing after sieve yield is the best way to compare the yields of one juicer compared to another. Out of juicer yield can be greater for one juicer compared to another only because it contains more pulp. The same isn’t true for after sieve yield. Standouts are its performance in our grape juicing test and its performance in our apple juicing test. It performed very poorly juicing grapes. Its out of juicer grape juice yield of 10 oz.The Elite’s after sieve yield of 9.7 oz. in the same test was similarly disappointing. It was good for a tie for 13 th best among the 17 centrifugal juicers we tested. On the positive side, the difference between the Elite’s out of juicer and after sieve yield in this test was only 0.3 oz. which means that its initial out of juicer yield was virtually pulp-free. This was not the case for the Jamba 67901 for which we collected 2.4 oz. of pulp in our grape juicing test. Its out of juicer yield of 13 oz.Its out of juicer yield of 11.9 oz. was only bested by the top performing Juice Fountain Compact for which we were able to obtain an out of juicer yield of 12.2 oz. in the same test. However, the Compact’s out of juicer yield had more pulp than that of the Elite’s and so the Elite’s after sieve yield was actually a better result than that of the Compact’s. The Elite garnered an after sieve yield of 11.4 oz.
